Where:  2018 Addison Street, Berkeley

Four longtime Bay Area acquaintances bound by a mutual commitment to their personal artistic expressions come together in a collaborative exhibit at the Addison Street Windows Gallery in Berkeley. Their distinctly independent styles posed side by side complement each other, creating a sense of preserving momentary but consciously shared memories --Waldo Esteva’s sculptural ceramics conjuring Andean motifs; Cliff Gustafson’s compelling nudes in black ink washes, James Hartman’s impressionistic studies in still life, along with Gordon Pagnello’s oval paintings composed of disparate attic artifacts. Veteran artists still seeking cross-fermentation from a collective critique becoming a foundation for friendship. Together their work adds up to an eclectic contrast in form & content like an archaeological dig at the Ashby flea market. But this visual street fair can be viewed 24 hours a day from the Addison Street sidewalk between Milvia and Shattuck Streets in Berkeley from March 8 through April 14, 2010.

The Addison Street Windows Gallery is a project of the Civic Arts Program of the City of Berkeley in cooperation with the Civic Arts Commission.
