Do you enjoy exploring the outdoors with children?
The Bay Interpretive (Bay IT) training could be for you! 

For nearly 40 years the City of Berkeley Marina Experience Program has provided high quality hands-on environmental education programs for school children and teachers. the Bay IT program was developed in 1985 to train volunteers in nature education techniques to assist Nature Center Staff in teaching children and adults about Bay ecology. 

Program topics include: Animals (November-February) Fish, Birds, Marine Mammals and Bay Scientist, Low Tide (March-June) Explore the rocky shore and docks; Sailing: (March-May). Students experience the Bay on a sailboat. Summer programs feature Marine Biology and Boating weeks. A brochure with training dates can be found here.

The cost is a one time fee of $65.00 which covers the training materials, nametag and 1 boat trip. Docents are required to have a current negative T.B. test and be fingerprinted.
