Traffic Calming in Berkeley

Traffic calming refers to a variety of physical measures intended to reduce the effect of motorized vehicle traffic in urban areas. Berkeley has a long history of traffic calming efforts.

In November 2006, the Berkeley City Council passed a resolution approving a Traffic Calming Policy to establish criteria for the application of traffic calming measures.
