Sustainable Transportation in Berkeley

 

“The goal of sustainable transportation is to ensure that environment, social and economic considerations are factored into decisions affecting transportation activity.”

 The City of Berkeley is committed to improving the sustainability of the transportation system. The City's General Plan calls for improving public transportation, reducing automobile use and vehicle miles traveled in Berkeley, calming and slowing traffic on residential streets, and creating a bicycle and pedestrian-friendly city.
