Berkeley's Eco-Business Initiative can refer companies to get assistance with sustainability issues such as:

 

Electronics Recycling - ACCRC refurbishes old computers and donates them to low income people locally and globally.  Recycling for Businesses  
Energy efficiency, including energy audits for new or rehabilitated buildings and referrals for specific inquiries about technologies and financial assistance. Stormwater pollution prevention
Free audits and discounted specification, design and project management services for commercial projects.   Toxics Management
Green building design and materials assistance. Transportation
Lighting Retrofits - reduced cost equipment installation to improve lighting quality and efficiency.  Save 20-50% on energy costs!  Waste disposal technical assistance
PG&E energy efficiency incentives Water conservation

 

The Berkeley Office of Economic Development can also offer assistance with traditional business issues such as:

Sustainable design and materials assistance for builders is available from:

  • The Build It Green (BIG) provides information and consulting services on ecological design, and appropriate building technologies and materials. Email the GRC at info@BuildItGreen.org.

  • Berkeley Best Builders Program provides free design assistance on major commercial and multifamily developments. For more information, contact the Green Resource Center at  (510) 845-5106.
