Berkeley,
California (Tuesday, November 20, 2007) – Berkeley Fire
Department and Berkeley Fire Fighters Association are working
together this holiday season to sponsor toy and food drives for
Berkeley residents.
The
toy drive, for new, unwrapped toys, is co-hosted by the Berkeley
Police Department. Barrels for toys are available at all Berkeley
fire stations and the Public Safety Building at 2100 Martin Luther
King Jr. Way. Toys will be accepted through December 24.
The
Berkeley Fire Department, Berkeley Fire Fighters Association and the
Berkeley Lions Club are sponsoring a holiday food drive for needy
seniors and other needy families in Berkeley. Food donations
(such as cereals, canned meats, beans, peanut butter, tuna, hearty
soups, pasta, fruit juices, rice and vegetables) are gratefully
accepted through December 24. Food barrels are available at all
Berkeley fire stations and the Public Safety Building. Call
