courtesy of Pacific Gas & Electric at three events hosted by the
City of Berkeley.

Downtown Berkeley BART Plaza
Wednesday, October 3rd
5-6:30 p.m.
Francis Albrier Community Center
Saturday, October 6th

Eighth Street Fire Station, between Dwight and Channing Note:
This event will also host a Lead Painted Toy & Jewelry Recall
collection. Bring all toys, jewelry, or lunchboxes suspected of
containing lead for proper disposal.
Thirteen-watt energy efficient lamps will be
available, one per person at each event. These lamps are
equivalent to a 60-watt light, and are a warm white color (2700K),
suitable for installation in living rooms, bedrooms, or as accent
lighting such as for wall sconces and table lamps.
You do not need to be a Berkeley resident to
receive a free lamp. One lamp per person, not per household.
PG&E requests that you sign their energy efficiency form when
you receive your lamp.
California Youth Energy Services, a program of
Rising Sun Energy Center, will be handing out information on their
free services and programs, including free energy efficient lamps,
showerheads and aerators.
PG&E has rebates available for other
energy-saving products, including permanent ones such as attic and
wall insulation, which will make your home warmer and less drafty in
winter, and cooler in summer. Visit their website for complete
rebate information.
There are also tax credits available for many
energy-efficient home improvements, up to $500 off the taxes you owe
for installing these products before December 31, 2007. Visit the IRS
website and do a search for "energy tax credits."
