Berkeley,
California (Wednesday, August 29, 2007) - Anyone
who lives or works in Berkeley can take any of the several free
classes in Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) offered by
the City of Berkeley Office of Emergency Services.
These classes teach you how to apply
basic first aid, how to put out a fire, and how to search for
victims after an earthquake. Everyone is encouraged to take them
all, but residents are free to sign up for them individually as
well.
Here’s the class schedule for
September and October 2007. All classes are held at 997 Cedar
Street.
Saturday,
Sept. 15, 9-12 – Disaster First Aid
Saturday,
Sept. 29, 9-1 – Light Search & Rescue
Saturday,
Oct. 13, 9-12 – Disaster First Aid
Saturday,
Oct. 20, 9-12 – Fire Suppression
