– The annual Berkeley Kite
Festival will be held this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, July 26-27
from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. in Cesar Chavez Park in the Berkeley
Marina. This nationally
recognized festival is free of charge, and features competitions and
demonstrations of kites of all kinds and sizes.
The event will include kite making, food for sale, Taiko
drumming, and other attractions.
Drivers are advised to park at the Golden Gate Fields parking
lot ($5) at the foot of Gilman Street and walk to Cesar Chavez Park.
There will be a shuttle for the disabled and those with
limited mobility. Parking
inside the Marina may be available during the day for $10.
