Youth and Education
Summit 1.
Community Linked Volunteer Coordination Linking Berkeley residents, employees, students, etc. with community based youth-serving agencies. Working hand-in-hand with Berkeley School Volunteers, Berkeley Champions for Kids Volunteer Coordination will bridge community with youth-centered out-of-school volunteer opportunities. 2.
Employee Volunteer Release Time City of Berkeley
will pilot program allowing City employees to match up to 40 hours of paid
volunteer time with 40 hours of personal volunteer time to work with “at
risk” Berkeley youth. 3.
Work-place Giving Program Development Committee
is exploring the viability of developing a Berkeley-based work-place
giving program that would support Berkeley youth-serving organizations,
including non-profits and school enrichment activities.
The program would be implemented through a payroll deduction
mechanism. This program would promote employees in Berkeley supporting
Berkeley’s youth.
