Mayor Bates and UC Vice Chancellor Denton Host Event for Berkeley ‘Green’ Businesses

Mayor Bates will outline Berkeley’s environmental efforts in speech to over 100 Berkeley green business leaders at the second Green Gathering on Thursday, April 14th.

Berkeley, CA –   Mayor Tom Bates will outline his agenda for building the green economy and celebrate the more than 200 green businesses in Berkeley at a major event on Thursday evening.  UC Berkeley Vice Chancellor of Facilities Ed Denton, who is co-hosting the event, will discuss the University’s green building and procurement efforts.

“The City is working closely with our green business community and the University of California to promote Berkeley as an innovative leader in green building and green business,” said Mayor Tom Bates.  “The more than 200 green businesses here in Berkeley are a wonderful sign that we are on the right track.  At our Green Gathering, we will join together to celebrate our success and lay plans for future growth.”
