Bayer to Move Its Biological Products Global Headquarters to Berkeley

Mayor Tom Bates and other officials joined in announcement at Bayer’s West Berkeley campus on Friday, April 8th.

Berkeley, CA –  On Friday, Mayor Tom Bates joined the President of Bayer Biological Products, Joseph Akers, in announcing and celebrating the decision to move Bayer’s Biological Products Global Headquarters from North Carolina to Berkeley.  The event also showcased the recently initiated construction of a new $50 million Clinical Manufacturing Facility at Bayer’s Berkeley campus.

“I am very excited that Bayer is making this strong commitment to Berkeley.  Their move represents a major investment of resources and people in our community,” said Mayor Tom Bates. “Perhaps most importantly, Bayer is sending a strong signal that it recognizes Berkeley as one of the most creative and innovative places in the world to do business.”
