Are there special restrictions in employing youth?

No one under 21 years of age can sell alcohol. No one under 18 years of age can use power equipment or work after 10:00 P.M. on week nights. The U.S. Department of Labor has a more complete listing of regulations for employing youth on their web site.

How are the applicants selected and screened for employment?

Applicants are screened and assessed to determine their occupational interest/aptitude, employment readiness, skill level, and work experience.

How much are the youth paid?

Minimum wage is currently $6.75 per hour but competitive jobs start at $8.00 per hour or more.

How do I list my job?

Complete the on-line YotuhWorks Job Order Form (available in Acrobat format) and Fax it to YouthWorks at (510) 981-4975.
