Powers and duties enumerated in
California Health and Safety Code, Section 321.7. Concerned
with health planning, education, and informational service to the
community. Reviews health proposals submitted by public and
private agencies for funding. Total membership is eighteen
with each council member making two appointments. Membership
shall attempt to reflect the following categories: two
parents, one of whom shall have a child eligible for state
reimbursed services, (per California Health and Safety Code,
Section 320); one physician; one representative of a public or
private educational agency; remaining members interested in the
health of women, children, and adolescents. Council shall
appoint one of its members as a liaison.
