    • Jim Sharp – Against UC construction at Northeast Science and Safety quadrant. Davis Hall and Stanley Hall to be demolished. Distributed letter to Weldon Rucker from Edward Denton, Vice-Chancellor of Capital Projects.

    • Gene Bernardi, CMTW – Request CEAC get comment period extended so that city can take part in UC Berkeley construction. Letter to Selawski (in agenda packet) states that trees containing radioactive waste are sent to Korean and Japanese paper mills.

    • Pamela Sihvola, CMTW – Berkeley Lab retraction of new element discovery (news article submitted). Can CEAC/Secretary get lab to open RCRA meetings to public? Tritium plume should be included in public review of RCRA process. Stack removal issue to be pursued by regulators.

    • Terry Powell, LBNL – Request copies of Uniform Enforcement and Diesel recommendation documents.
       

  5. Toxics Management Division Staff Report
    Arsenic report – tested ten sites – clean bill of health for arsenic/heavy metals.
    Harrison Air Particulates. Higher than expected for PM10 however not sufficient time to evaluate health risks. PM2.5 not validated and chromium not available. LA Wood raised concern that Council was given document first and staff was able to put bias on the report. Questioned non-availability of PM2.5 and Cr6 data. Later, discussion with contractor Eric Winegar.
     

  6. Action

    • Inform City Council that Arsenic/metals testing is done and no significant impacts found - Info Item.

    • Research tritium and eucalyptus communications from the commission.

    • MOTION CEAC should not debate Harrison Park air monitoring until all results come in (M/S/C Bianco/Grossman. For: Bianco, Grossman. Against: Clear. Abstain: Caseber, Wood. Absent: Morgan, Webster, Luten, Chatterjee. FAIL.)

    • MOTION Request $25,000 Funding for BAAQMD Woodsmoke education and notification program (M/S/C Wood/Grossman. For: Caseber, Bianco, Wood, Clear, Grossman. Against: None. Absent: Morgan, Webster, Luten, Chatterjee. PASS.)

    • MOTION That Notices of Violation for high visibility sites or violations be brought to Commission each month (M/S/C Wood/Bianco. For: Caseber, Bianco, Wood, Clear, Grossman. Against: None. Absent: Morgan, Webster, Luten, Chatterjee. PASS.)
