Rent Board Website Redesign Overview
The Rent Board is redesigning its website to make it easier to find the information you need! Below are just some of the improvements you can now see on our home page and other pages we have created or revised. Please read on and let us know what you think!
Graphic Navigation Bar
We have added a navigation bar at the top of our home page with six buttons that link to six "portal" pages -- each of these six portals provides both a general overview and topic-specific sections with links to all related documents and information.
For example, if you are looking for information on evictions, there is a link to eviction information on the Landlord and the Tenant portal pages as well as a link to eviction forms on the Forms portal page.
Other Improvements & Features
- Graphical Buttons -- If you are looking for the "Guide to Rent Control" page you can simply click on that button on the home page.
- Text Scroll Box -- In several sections on our home page, we now have scroll boxes, which lets us highlight the most timely information for everyone while also allowing interested users to access additional content.
- New Sections & Content -- Many of our primary services are now conveniently listed in our new "How Can We Help You?" section with links to more information. Our meetings & events are now located on the right sidebar with a calendar for reference that also displays the current date.
In 2017, expect more improvements! Rent Board staff will add more online services and continue to improve other pages.
Feedback and Suggestions
As we continue to improve the Rent Board's website, we would appreciate your feedback and your suggestions. Please keep in mind that changes are currently constrained by the City of Berkeley's overall website design template. We invite you to take our brief website redesign survey (takes less than 3 minutes). We value your time and your input -- and we hope to hear from you!
