Description Berkeley Day Camp provides a fun and exciting experience for children ages 5-12. Staff provides a safe environment that helps a child develop social skills and appreciation for our local parks. Staff and children are bused to and from camp each week. A typical week will comprise of two days in Tilden Park and two days at the Berkeley Marina. Tilden Park is located in the Berkeley Hills, a wonderful lush forest with well-marked trails, lakes, ponds and streams. Teen Adventure Camp (ages 12-13)
|
Description
Recreational activities including hikes to local landmarks like Indian Rock, Inspiration Point, and rock climbing build self-assurance as teens achieve a new level of success. Teen Camp use a variety of local parks each week, using buses or public transportation to and from their many locations. Teens meet each day at Washington School. The second week of the 2-week session concludes at Tilden Park in the beautiful Berkeley Hills with an overnight camping trip in Tilden Park. During this trip teens will prepare a family-style dinner, go on a night hike, and make s’mores and hot chocolate to enjoy while telling ghost stories. Berkeley Marina trips include canoeing, making booths for Day Camp’s special events and using skateboards and scooters to ride along the Bay Trail between El Cerrito and Emeryville. Swim Day occurs on Friday of the first week at several beach locations, such as Lake Anza in Tilden Park, Crissy Fields in San Francisco or Crown Beach in Alameda.
