Money for Energy Efficiency Press Event

Berkeley, California (Monday, March 21, 2011) - Mayor Tom Bates celebrated the success of the Money for Energy Efficiency (ME2) program today at the home of a Berkeley resident who conducted a whole-house energy upgrade and received a ME2 rebate.  ME2 is funded through federal stimulus funding and provides rebates of energy upgrades such as attic, wall and floor insulation and draft and duct sealing for Berkeley property owners.

ME2 for Berkeley is designed to:
• substantially lower the cost of energy efficiency improvements;
• help Berkeley residents save money on their energy costs;
• improve building comfort, safety, and durability

ME2 rebates are fully reserved but new rebates are now available through Energy Upgrade California (www.energyupgradeca.org) a statewide program, administered locally by Stopwaste.  Energy Upgrade California can help homeowners save up to $4,000 on home energy improvements.

WHAT:  Press event: Mayor Tom Bates to offer congratulations to ME2 program.  Event will be hosted at the home of ME2 rebate recipient David Hochschild.
